I am credentialed within some insurance networks. Depending on your current health insurance provider or employee benefit plan, it is possible for services to be covered in full or in part. If you are unsure if I am within your insurance provider’s network, please contact your insurance carrier and provide them with my name. It is also recommended to contact your insurance provider to help determine the details associated with your plan’s benefits regarding psychotherapy services that may include a copay or deductible amount.
I’d recommend asking these questions to your insurance provider to help determine your benefits:
- Does my health insurance plan include mental health benefits?
- Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it and have I met it yet?
- Do I have a copay for appointments?
- Does my plan limit how many sessions per calendar year I can have? If so, what is the limit?
- Do I need written approval from my primary care physician in order for services to be covered?
- Are there restrictions on what we can talk about in a session in order for my plan to cover?
- Does my plan include family psychotherapy?
Please note that a mental health diagnosis is required in order to bill insurance. Some individuals opt not to use their insurance if they do not want a diagnosis attached to their health record
Out of Network
If I am not in network with your insurance carrier or if the service you are seeking is not covered by your insurance carrier, I can provide a Superbill (a medical receipt) after each appointment that you can use to file a claim independently. This may provide a partial reimbursement for services or the amount may be put toward your deductible or out-of-pocket maximum. Research your specific insurance plan to determine what the plan may offer.
I accept cash, check, Health Savings Accounts (HSA), Flex Spending Accounts (FSA), and all major credit cards as forms of payment.
If you need to cancel your appointment please contact me as soon as possible, preferably at least 24 hours before your appointment time. If you no-show to an appointment, you may be at risk of being charged a $75 and/or losing your spot on my calendar.
The No Surprises Act Effective January 2022
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.
You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you agree to a service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or photo of your Good Faith Estimate.
